Call for Volunteers to ensure Tractor Run has one last hurrah!

21/11/2024 @ 11:43

Dozens of local residents are being urged to step forward to ensure that the hugely successful Christmas tractor run through the Welshpool area can go ahead one last time.

Lead organisers Jenny and Kevin Clarke have decided that due to other growing commitments and the time required these days to organise the huge event, this year will be its last but they hope to go out on a high by raising thousands of pounds for charity.

But to do so, at least 33 volunteers are needed to ensure all of the health and safety requirements are met.

“We’ve tallied up the amount of marshalls that we desperately need for the tractor run this year and it is a bare minimum of 33 volunteers for the event to go ahead!” said Jenny.

“Obviously, we’d like lots more than this, so if you’re able to spare some time between 2pm-6/7pm on Sunday, December 8, please get in touch or come and meet us for more information this coming Saturday at COWSHACC, Welshpool (at the top of Berriew Street Car Park) anytime between 10am-12pm to discuss locations and roles needed.

“It’s our last tractor run this year, so please let’s try and make it the best one yet!”

The couple set up the tractor run four years ago so that their own son had somewhere to watch the tractors after seeing other areas had them organised.

It has been hugely successful and this year we can expect dozens of tractors to travel in a colourful convoy throughout the area.

This year, they are raising money for the Farming Community Network.
