Newtown trader celebrates 33 years on the market

A Newtown street market trader is celebrating 33 years on the market and has received a gift from the town council to mark the occasion.

Ruth originally ran her stall at the indoor market on High Street until it closed for refurbishment when she moved to the charter market on a Tuesday.

She fiest established the business on 1st March, 1990.

Lee Davies, Newtown Charter Market Manager, comments “Newtown Tuesday market wouldn’t be the same without Ruth with her plants and flowers.

"Ruth has shown loyalty and continuity to the community of Newtown. I encourage people to support Ruth and other market stall holders at Newtown’s Charter Market on Tuesdays."

Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council presented Ruth with gifts to mark the milestone.
