Volunteers wanted to help support local fire service

Residents across Newtown, Welshpool and north Powys are being encouraged to support their communities by volunteering with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The service is looking for people to help with engagement, fundraising and safety activities across its Northern Division and wider service area.

Volunteers will work alongside fire service staff and other volunteers to promote important community safety messages and build stronger links with local communities.

Opportunities are based within the service’s Community Safety Hubs. Activities could include supporting fire station open days, helping at charity car washes, representing the fire service at community events and campaigns, and assisting with fundraising and community safety initiatives.

No previous experience is required, as successful applicants will receive full training and ongoing support.

The fire service is seeking reliable and enthusiastic people who enjoy working with others and want to make a positive difference locally.
