A day centre in Llanidloes has raised more than £1,000 for men’s mental health after completing a community walking challenge.
Maes Y Wennol Day Centre took part in a “Step by Step Challenge”, which saw participants walk one mile a day for 10 days. The group raised the money through a raffle and sponsorship, with the total now added to a wider fundraising campaign led by Newtown runner Jensen Jones.
Jensen has now raised more than £22,000 for men’s mental health through his efforts, which recently included completing an endurance challenge of running 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days across the length of Wales.
The fundraising milestone was marked with a visit to the day centre, where Jensen handed out medals to those who took part in the walking challenge.
He is pictured with Day Centre Manager Angela Jones during the visit.
The latest contribution adds to a growing total raised through community support across the area.
