Newtown High School has thanked staff, pupils and families after the school was removed from Estyn review.
The school said the decision reflects the work carried out since inspectors visited in October 2023 and the effort put in across both the John Beddoes and Newtown campuses.
Acting Headteacher, Mrs S Craddock Bennett, said the support of the wider community had been vital.
“I would like to thank our staff, students, parents and carers, governors and the local community for the support they have shown throughout this process,” she said. “This shows what can be achieved when everyone works together.”
Mrs N Havard, also Acting Headteacher, said the outcome was down to the commitment of the whole school.
“This reflects the hard work of staff, pupils, parents and governors who have worked to improve teaching and learning,” she said.
Chair of Governors Mr R Harper said governors were proud of the progress made. “This shows our shared commitment to providing the best education and opportunities for our learners,” he said.
The school said it will now focus on building on the progress already made and continuing to support pupils in Newtown.
