Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that one person died in a house fire in Abermule earlier this month.
Crews from Newtown, Montgomery, Llandrindod Wells, Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion, Llanidloes and Llanfyllin were called to the incident at 11.08pm on Saturday, 1 November.
In a statement, the service said firefighters responded to “a fire involving one domestic property and utilised six breathing apparatus sets, three hose reel jets, thermal imaging cameras and small gear to extinguish the fire.”
It added: “Sadly, one person died at the scene. The fire is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for H.M. Coroner.”
Fire crews remained at the property until 2.18pm the following day.
