Apartment plans submitted at former offices

Town councillors will have their say on plans to convert offices in the former Barclays Bank into apartments.

Plans have been submitted to Powys County Council for converting offices on the first floor of The Cross, which also incorporates the town clock, into seven apartments.

Apartments are already situated in the upper part of the building. The ground floor used to have the Barclays Bank in it until it closed several years ago.

Newtown Town Council can submit comments on such applications before they go to planners. The Economy and Environment Committee will consider it on Monday.
