A new councillor has joined Newtown Town Council, with one ward still unrepresented.
Bryn Steer, who was a youth representative on the council, has been co-opted as a full member for the West Ward. A vacancy still exists on the East Ward.
It follows a lack of anyone contesting either seats for an election.
The town council now has 15 members.
Ed Humphreys, Town Clerk, said: “The Town Council would like to thank everyone who showed interest in the vacancy and encourages residents to continue interest in your Town Council by joining council and committee meetings online.
"Residents are also encouraged to reach out to their local councillors with concerns or suggestions about the town and how it can be improved. The participation, engagement and contribution of the community is crucial for the continued development and well-being of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn. We wish Councillor Bryn Steer the best of luck in his new post and look forward to his contribution to our community."
