Over the past 24 hours, emergency services have faced one of their most challenging days in a long time, responding to problem after problem caused by Storm Darragh.
Damage has been reported to properties, and roads have flooded throughout the area.
The chapel's roof at Mochdre was blown off, and emergency services urged people not to visit the site.
The main A483 road between Newtown and Welshpool was closed for a time near Berriew last night.
The River Severn in Newtown reached one of its highest levels, as the photos taken by MyNewtown reader and local photographer Paul Williams of H18-PDS Photography shows.
Roads in and out of Welshpool remain impacted this morning, particularly towards Berriew, Llanfair Caereinion and between Llanymynech and Four Crosses which was closed due to flooding and an accident last night. Even Red Bank was out of action due to a fallen tree.
Trees fell across roads in a number of places, sparking Dyfed-Powys Police to declare a 'major incident' for Powys.
Power was cut at houses and flooding was expected to impact properties at Llandrinio due to the heavy rain, but it has eased overnight leaving gusts of wind up to 50mph possible on Sunday.
This powercuts resulted in Dyfed-Powys Police police taking another unprecedented step of asking people to contact them on 101 if they are in need of immediate support because they are without power.
“We’re also appealing directly to our communities to help us safeguard the most vulnerable at this time by checking on family members, neighbours, and anyone else who might need extra help - if the weather in your area allows you to do so safely,” they said last night.
Events were cancelled yesterday, including all football matches in Wales, but organisers of the huge Welshpool Illuminated Tractor Run are confident of it going ahead this evening with final checks on the route 30.2-mile to be made this morning.
Despite the weather easing, motorists are urged to still be cautious on the roads while the advice remains not to walk in woodland today due to the lingering threat of falling trees or branches.
