Roads in the Newtown and surrounding area are already posing problems ahead of another two days of challenging weather.
Readers are reporting issues across the area following yesterday’s downpour, and this weekend’s yellow weather warning has been upgraded to amber for high winds on Saturday.
The yellow warning comes into play this afternoon at 3pm in the Welshpool area for both wind and rain, but steps up to amber from 3am through to 9pm on Saturday, before becoming more settled on Sunday. A yellow warning for wind will remain in place until 6am on Sunday.
Amber means that there is a good chance that there could be power cuts so residents are urged to be prepared, and again the advice is not to venture out unless absolutely necessary due to added risks like falling trees and flying debris.
