2025 is set to be a year of celebrations

Next year could be a bumper one for celebrations in Newtown.

2025 will mark the 150th anniversaries of Newtown football and rugby clubs, as well as the 140th anniversary of Newtown Silver Band.

The anniversaries were highlighted at a recent meeting of the Newtown Town Partnership by Heritage Hub for Mid Wales.

It was also pointed out that it would be the 150th anniversary of the Pryce Jones Carnival and 150 years since the formation of the Co-Operative Society, in which Newtown's social reformer Robert Owen played a key part.
