Bus stop needed at Newtown Hospital, say councillors

Town councillors want a bus stop added at Newtown Hospital and one reinstated at the town's railway station.

The council has responded to a consultation by Powys County Council looking into the latest tendering and routes of bus services throughout the county.

The consultation, which ended on 30 June, asked town and community councils to suggest routes in their communities as part of the plans, although no promises have been given that they will be implemented.

Town councillors said both bus stops would help people get around town as well as supporting increasing the number of visitors into the area.
