Growing up in Newtown in the 60s

Growing up in Newtown during the 1960s will be the talk at the AGM of Newtown and District Civic Society next week.

Bob Davey will be providing an insight into life growing up in the town when it was going through a transofrmation into a 'new town'.

He will provide his talk during the meeting at the Crescent Chrsitian Centre at 7pm on 9 April.

"Bob gave us a previous talk on this topic which was thoroughly enjoyed by the Society but plagued by technical problems. Bob promised to return with more fascinating stories about his youth and this time we are sure that the projector will work," said a spokesperson for the group.

The meeting is open to all. £3 for non-members.
