Investigation continues into railway line death

An investigation is continuing today into the death of a person on the Cambrian Railway Line in Newtown.

Emergency services were called to an incident at 2.45pm yesterday about reports of a person on the tracks.

British Transport Police confirmed last night the person had died.

The incident happened on the tracks near Vaynor. Dyfed Powys Police said it had received calls about the welfare "of an indiivudal" in the town.

Train services were disrupted but have returned to normal today.
