Members of Newtown's New Dynamic mixed choir have, recently had the honour of singing at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff before the Wales v England as part of the Women’s Six Nations Tournament.
The choir were joined on the pitch by four other South Wales-based choirs – Côr Tadau Trisant, Côr y Gleision and the Richard Williams Singers.
Under the baton of Dr Haydn James, and accompanied by the Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh, the choirs performed several Welsh popular songs including Rachie, Calon Lan, Sosban Fach, Hymns and Arias and Cwm Rhondda, as well as both the English and Welsh National Anthems.
"Performing to a sell-out crowd on a glorious sunny day, it was a memorable day for the whole choir, and an experience they hope to be able to repeat again in the future," said a choir spokesperson.
This was the choir’s first performance of 2023. Their last performance was at their successful Christmas concert at the Crescent Christian Centre, Newtown in December, where £800 was raised in aid of the Mid Wales Air Ambulance.
The choir are now looking forward to their next concert, which will be held at the Monty Club, Newtown on Saturday, 17 June.
