A Newtown-based charity has had 50 boxes of toys, gifts and essentials donated to it by local staff from a national delivery company.

Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre received the donations from the Newtown DPD depot. They also received £160.
It will go towards the support of vulnerable adults and children in the local area.
The charity said DPD have been supporting MFCC’s work over the last few months by raising awareness of services and the effects of domestic abuse to their staff and by attending Newtown’s White Ribbon Day walk in November to make a stand against abuse.
Jane Stephens, Director at Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre said: “We are very grateful to DPD for their support, it will make a real difference at these difficult times. We are also pleased that they were able to attend the White Ribbon Day event.
"It is important we don’t shy away from the subject of domestic abuse and the support available, especially as the need for our services has risen 37% in the last year.”
Gareth, Shift Manager for the DPD Newtown Depot sai:, “We reached out to support Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre this year as we wanted to make a difference in our locality.
"It has been very impactful to hear how they are supporting those most vulnerable at this time of year.
"Joining Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre on the White Ribbon Day walk against domestic violence was a specific highlight for me. We really hope that our efforts go some way to deliver a better Christmas for those they support."
