A new play park has been opened at Treowen in Newtown and welcomed by local parents and county councillor Joy Jones.
The play park comes after a new sports area was opened in the area earlier this year.
"I am so excited to that after years of fighting, Treowen finally gets a new play park," said Powys county councillor, Joy Jones.
"The estate was built in the 70’s but the play parks have never been replaced and most equipment has been removed over the years, as it had become old or broken.
"Powys County Council has been able to get some funding and thanks to Powys recreation officer Steve Gealy for putting it to use on the estate."
Joy added: "It feels like real Christmas present for the children and families on the Treowen estate after so many years of asking for help and it really is nice to have something exciting happen in these very times.
"I really hope this will be enjoyed by many children and families over the next few years.
