A sixteen year old boy has been charged in relation to a stabbing in Newtown at the weekend.
Police were called to an incident at 8.25pm on Friday when an 18-year-old was found injured near Parker's Lane in the town centre.
"One male, aged 16, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and actual bodily harm," said a statement.
"He has been remanded in custody to appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court today (March 10). The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening."
In an earlier statement, police said: “At approximately 8.25pm on Friday March 7, Dyfed-Powys Police received reports of an incident near Parkers Lane, Newtown.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended the scene and found an 18-year-old male had sustained an injury to his arm – a stab wound.
“Officers administered first aid and an ambulance attended and conveyed the victim to hospital."
