Dazzling Christmas display returns to Powis Castle

08/11/2024 @ 02:58

Powis Castle will again light up for Christmas this year with another dazzling show, but it will be entry by ticket only following last year’s overwhelming response.

Visitors flooded in from across the country to view the sensational display beamed onto the walls of the castle, and it will happen again from December 13-23.

But National Trust has confirmed that it will be a ticketed event this time and they can be purchased on a first come, first served basis from the visitor reception in the car park.

“Please note, unlike other times of the year, entry to the Courtyard will have an admission fee during this special event (4.30pm-7pm),” the Castle announced today, adding that the Courtyard will be “transformed with a dazzling display of mesmerising lights, illuminating its grand exterior like never before”.

National Trust members will be able to enter for free and any tickets purchased during the day can be used for evening re-entry on the same night.

The Castle will be open through the day as usual, but will close at 4pm to prepare for the evening event.

The announcement did not indicate how much the entry will be to the evening light show.
