Welshpool and Llanfair will be steaming this weekend!

Hundreds of visitors are expected to flood into the area this weekend for the annual Steam Gala hosted by the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway from Friday through to Sunday.

A jam-packed programme of events has been revealed, and promises an intensive train timetable, road steam, vintage vehicles, model railway exhibition, and lots more to explore.

Tickets are now available through https://wllr.org.uk with the following expected at the two stations:

At Llanfair Caereinion Station:

• Road Steam, Traction Engines and Miniatures.
• Llanfair Connections Museum, including 16mm layout and Second Hand Book Sale.
• Cloverlands Model Car Museum.
• Garden Railway Show at Llanfair Leisure Centre (separate event, entry fee).
• Real Ale Bar (open until 23:00 on Saturday).
• Night-time photography opportunities (19:00 – 21:00 on Saturday).

At Welshpool Raven Square Station:

• Extensive Model Railway Show (layouts from 009 to O and 16mm).
• Static Locomotives and Rolling Stock on display in the bay platform.
• Mid Wales Classic Vehicle Club.

Buses & Car Parking

Car Parking:

• Llanfair Caereinion (SY21 0SF) & Welshpool Raven Square (SY21 7LT) Station Car Parks. £5 per vehicle. Limited spaces (all three days).
• FREE parking at Llanfair Caereinion Leisure Centre (SY21 0HW). 10-minute walk or Minibus link to Llanfair Station (Saturday & Sunday only).

• Friday 30th – No Buses.
• Saturday 31st:
