Karl Peter hosted a successful Presidents day which saw Debbie and Huw Jones partner up with Winnie and John Latham to take the top prize with cracking score of 103 points.

The runners-up went to the team of Frankie Costanzo, Gary Rimmer, Brian Arthur and the President himself with a score of 100 points.

Meanwhile, Gary Kruger carded an excellent level par 70 to claim the Buck Rabbits trophy with a 2 shot winning margin from Winston Howells who claimed 2nd place from Danny Owen after both players posted 72.

Anthony Faelli held his nerve to win the 36-hole Strokeplay Championship from the front with a total of 157 and the narrowest of victories of one shot from no less than three players. John Williams finished as the runner-up from Rhys Edkins in third and Alan Porter in fourth after all recorded 158.

Connor Jones and Sheila Porter won the Social Cup with a score of 69.5 to take the silverware from Joan Dellow and John Pulfer who finished in second with 73.5.

A card playoff was needed to settle the ladies’ Maesmawr Plate which saw Pauline Mantle land the spoils at the expense of Sheila Porter after both ladies scored 29 points.

Winnie Latham produced a magical score of six-under 66 to take the prestigious Challinor Strokeplay Championship from the runner-up Julie Davies who finished on level par 72.

On Saturday, the J.T. Hughes (Honda) Shield tees off at 9am and 1pm.
