Robins win Europa qualifier

Newtown created a piece of club history by beating with Maltest giants Valletta 2-1at Latham with an injury time strike in the Europa League qualifier.

A near post header from Hearsey off a Craig Williams cross gave Newtown the lead at halftime but Conceicao scored at the far post after Williams had conceded possession to level things up in 73 minutes.

Azzaperadi was sent off for Valletta with 10 minutes to go and Newtown took advantage when Jason Oswell netted an injury time winner for yet another Williams cross.

Newtown will fly out to Valletta for next week's return with a goal advantage but manager Cheis Hughes will be aware that Valletta have the away goal.
