Robins playing for final places
Newtown take on Port Talbot, the team directly above them in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League, tomorrow (Saturday).
Manager Chris Hughes has called on his side to build on Saturday’s great win at Bala last week and has warned his players they are chasing Welsh Cup Final places.
The Robins bring the curtain down on their league season at Latham Park and will be without the suspended Steff Edwards, though several players are back in contention after injury.
There’s a big match in the Central Wales Cup semi-final with Caersws and Llanidloes renewing their old rivalry. The Bluebirds have ground advantage and this will be the first but of action for The Daffs for three weeks.
Match of the day tomorrow(Saturday) in the Spar Mid Wales League sees leaders Llanfair at home to second placed Penrhyncoch in a top-of-the-table showdown.
A win for Llanfair would see them take a huge stride towards the championship, while points for Penrhyn would throw the race wide open.
The two clubs are also heading for a League Cup clash after both sides reached the semi-finals on Wednesday nhight. Llanfair beat Kerry 1-0 while Penrhyn trounced Tywyn/Bryncrug 4-0.
Berriew are heading for the second division after losing 3-0 at home to Rhosgoch on Wednesday while Waterloo entertain Carno today, having jumped above rivals Welshpool with a 4-3 win over Four Crosses in midweek.
Montgomery are at home to Llanrhaeadr.
In the Amateur League Bettws look ready to take a huge stride towards the title hen they visit Guilsfield, while Forden will be trying to halt Morda’s title chase in the second division.
