Stephens and Edwards leave town

Ross Stephens and Stefan Edwards have both left Newtown to seek new clubs for next season.

The duo, who were limited in the amount of minutes played last season, have decided to seek pastures new.

Stephens spent the 2009/10 season with the Robins, when he notched 11 goals in 33 games, and returned last summer after spells at Prestatyn and Aberystwyth. He scored once in 19 appearances, with the goal coming at Airbus in the 7-0 win, a goal that was nominated for goal of the month.

Up until last season, Edwards was a mainstay in the Robins side. He started 31 games in his first season, and helped the Robins to a Welsh Cup final, and a play-off final. He started all four European games in 2015, including the two wins over Valletta. He scored only once in 80 appearances.

Chris Hughes said: "Stef and Ross have been great servants to the club, and we thank them for their efforts."
