Berriew hit 7 to go top

Berriew went top of the Spar Mid Wales League last night with a crushing 7-1 win at Welshpool.

It was a night to relish for former Pool boss Dave Jones, whose Berriew side dominated from start to finish, and also a night to remember for man-of-the-match Richard Davies who bagged a hat-trick.

Berriew moved above Rhayader on goal difference but the Radnorshire side has two games in hand on the Rhiewsiders.

Carroll, Pritchard, Roberts and a James Watkins own goal were the other scorers with Will Pritchard netting for Pool who suffered further injury blows, losing Dan Bowen after 25 minutes and Pritchard at half time.
