28/04/2016 @ 01:10

The first round of the David “Spudder” Davies League was played at the weekend which produced a three-way tie.

A card play-off determined the winner, Richard Blayney, at the expense of Alan Williams and Andrew Dowell who all carded 34 points in what were tough golfing conditions.

The Seniors played for the Reg Thomas Trophy which was won by the red-hot veteran John Williams, who posted a two under par 68 for a three shot victory.

A card count back was required to determine the minor honours which saw Tony Hall finish as the runner-up whilst David Bebb had to settle for third and Alex Blundell fourth after all three men recorded one over par 71.

This Saturday is the J.T.Hughes (Honda) April Medal with tee-off times at 9am and 1pm. This competition is the first Club Championship qualifier and also Golfer of the Year competition.
