A parcel of riverside pasture and amenity land, which includes a motte and bailey ancient monument, at Abermule, exceeded its estimate as it sold for £61,000 at a collective property on Friday.
The land, which has been used for grazing on the banks of the River Severn, went under the hammer at auctioneers Halls’ auction in Shrewsbury. The land is accessed from the B4386 road close to the centre of Abermule.
Auctioneer James Evans, a director of Halls and manager of the company’s Welshpool office, said the adaptable parcel of land sold to a local businessman.
