Missing 16-year-old Cheyanne found

Missing 16-year-old Newtown schoolgirl Cheyanne Wilton has been found safe and well this morning.

Yesterday police issued an appeal amid concern about her welfare after she failed to return home from Newtown High School on Thursday afternoon.

Today, police said Cheyanne had "been found safe and well" this morning and thanked the community for helping raise awareness of her missing.

It is not known if she returned home or was found elsewhere by police.
