Food festival around the corner

03/03/2015 @ 07:04

A week of events, including a pizzas and puddings night, is being planned for a food and drink festival at Llandinam.

The annual Llandinam Food and Drink Festival, centred on the Girlguiding Cymru headquarters at Broneirion, will be held from March 30 to April 4.

The week begins with a children’s Easter activity day with a bread making workshop and butter making, chocolate, planting and hands-on cookery workshops on Monday.

A vintage tea dance with old fashioned high tea, music and house tour by Vintage Sounds and Décor is planned for Tuesday, followed by a cheese making workshop with Artisan Country Crafts on Wednesday and a pizzas and puds family night at the Lion Hotel, Llandinam with leading Welsh chef Nick Davies on the Thursday from 7pm.

Highlight of the week is the food festival and Easter egg hunt on the Saturday, which will welcome around 60 stalls in addition to demonstrations by chefs, workshops, lots of family activities and entertainment by the Tenovus Choir, buskers and local bands.

The family-friendly festival is designed to promote local food and drink products and their producers, whilst raising money for Girlguiding Cymru.

“The festival will provide a fantastic platform to promote the high quality local food and drink products that we have in Montgomeryshire,” said Mr Davies. “I shall be helping to arrange a series of demonstrations and masterclasses by talented chefs during the week.”
