Newtown bank raided and ATM ransacked

Thieves have broken into a Newtown bank and attacked it's ATM machinbe, but how much money has been stolen has yet to be disclosed.

Dyfed Powys Police said burglars entered the Santander Bank on High Street between 1.13am and 1.20am today.

"The scale of the theft is being determined," said a police spokesperson.

Police have been at the scene all day and have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and recovering CCTV in the area.
