Welsh Government staff raise cash for charity

26/05/2017 @ 03:03

Staff from Newtown’s Welsh Government office have raised cash for Cancer Research UK by walking or running 10,000 steps every day for a month.

Seven staff members from Ladywell House took part, raising £533.00 in the process. It was part of the “Walk All Over Cancer” charity activity that took place in March.

Those taking part were (pictured left to right) Liz Crowther, John Jones, Jan Jones and Mel Matthews. Ruth Bacigalupo, Rwth Foulkes and Mary Davies also took part but are not pictured.

“There’s been a lot of side stepping whilst ironing, there are some very lean dogs and some well worn out trainers. Overall an impressive 2,655,432 steps were achieved,” said Jan.

“This is a regular fundraising activity for Cancer Research UK to help raise vital funds for a charity very close to many colleagues that work at the Welsh Government.”

The Newtown office frequently raises money for local charities, making a difference to much needed causes.
