Local events to share Neuadd Maldwyn updates

With ClwydAlyn’s Independent Living scheme at Neuadd Maldwyn set to open this summer, officials are heading out on tour over the next two months to promote its facilities to local communities.

Work has continued at pace despite the awful weather over the past six months, and the information events will provide people with the opportunity to find out more about the former council offices’ incredible transformation, independent living with care and support and meet and ask key staff questions.

Brendan McWhinnie Housing Manager East Team, ClwydAlyn said: “We believe in building not just homes but futures, people are at the heart of what we do.

“That is why we are thrilled to share information about Neuadd Maldwyn and what is independent living with care. Whether you are looking for a place to call home or if you want to find out more, we have it covered.

“So please join us to learn more about independent living with care and support, view our site and apartment plans, talk to key staff and ask questions.”

Neuadd Maldwyn will provide 66 self-contained 1 and 2-bedroom high quality apartments for rent, for individuals aged 60 years and over with an assessed care or support need. Priority will be given to residents in the Powys area or have close connections to the Powys area. The scheme will include communal facilities for events and activities, a restaurant, onsite parking, and landscaped areas.

The project is being developed by ClwydAlyn in conjunction with Powys County Council.  Housing management and ancillary services will be provided by ClwydAlyn, whilst Powys County Council will take responsibility for the provision of the on-site domiciliary care.
