Newtown's Christmas lights have received a boost after the town came second in a national competition, winning £1,000.
The town entered the Revive and Thrive Christmas Lights competition which saw towns from across the UK competing for £10,000 worth of Christmas lights. Newtown came second after Ebbw Vale in the Welsh finals section of the competition held at Blackpool.
Newtown Town Council officer, Zak Howard, presented to a panel of judges at the competition.
The town council received £1,000 towards its Christmas lights.
Montgomeryshire MP, Glyn Davies, congratulated the town for doing well in the competition. "Well done Newtown," he said.
