Twelve local organisations and groups are sharing over £9,100 from the newly rebranded Newtown Community Fund run by the town council.
The fund attracted applications from over 23 groups, much higher than in previous years.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t award money to every group that applied for funding in this round; we encourage everyone to apply again in the next round which is in October.” said a council spokesperson.
The groups that have received funding from the fund are:

Newtown Textile Museum - £1,545
Walking Newtown - £577
